KENYA & UGANDA
With a mission to build schools, educate and mentor girls in Kenya and Uganda, One Girl Can is committed to creating a vibrant hub of women who are educated, employed, socially and politically active and committed to helping other girls follow in their footsteps. Their holistic model supports girls from the time she leaves primary school, until the day she gains meaningful employment.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Founded in 2007 by model and humanitarian, Noella Coursaris Musunka, Malaika is a grassroots nonprofit that empowers girls and their communities through education and health programs in the DRC. Malaika provides a comprehensive education to more than 300 girls. The rigorous curriculum includes STEM, IT, health, and civic education. Art, music, theater, and physical education are also a key part of the robust educational programming.
Nurturing Minds provides financial and technical support to Secondary Education for Girls Advancement (SEGA). Their mission is to improve access to quality education and life skills for girls in Tanzania, with a particular emphasis on girls who are marginalized and at-risk. SEGA’s goal is to improve education standards in Tanzania by becoming a model center for excellence for teaching, learning and leadership development.
NIGERIA, LIBERIA, UGANDA & KENYA
With schools in Nigeria, Uganda, Libera, Kenya and India, Bridge believes that girls should have the same opportunities as boys in education. Bridge is proud to empower women and build confident, successful girls. They improve opportunities for girls in and out of the classroom with their gender-sensitive instruction, gender-sensitive school management, co-curriculars, and commitment to accountability.
